$27-$33/Hour

Schedule

• 8 am to 5 pm and on call hours

General Purpose

Performthe majority oftruck and/or trailer maintenance and repairs, ensuring that equipment is available and inoptimaloperatingcondition, while working under minimal supervision. Work with theassistanceof other mechanics or supervisors when performing highly technical or intricate diagnostic repairs.

Job Responsibilities

• Responds to maintenance requests from drivers, safety coordinator, DOT coordinator, lead mechanic, transportation supervisor, and fleet manager.
• Maintainsand repairs trucks and trailers to be in proper operatingconditionaccording to DOT specifications.
• Conducts periodic inspections, diagnoses problems,andeliminatingunsafe operating conditions.
• Performs annual vehicle inspectionand admissions testsin compliance with state regulations.
• Operates arc andmigweld equipment.
• Other duties as assigned
• This is a full-time position

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalentpreferred
• At least two years' experience as a diesel Class 8 vehicle mechanic

Necessary Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities:

• Must be able to read and understand driver inspectionreports
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and inwriting
• Must be able to provide and use personal hand toolsappropriate forworking on heavyequipment
• Must have knowledge and understanding of DOTregulations

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Must be able to lift 75lbs.

• Must be able to pass aphysical demandsanalysis
